The Kronberg above Jakobstal is always worth a trip. This time I decided to start in Jakobstal to hike to Appenzell.  The start was in thick fog which cleared up near Hölzli.

A cold wind came up – a warm soup up on Kronberg was the right decision.

From here on the trail continues rather smoothly into the direction of Appenzell.

The last sightseeing point is the Klosterspitz.

From here the descent into the direction of Appenzell starts.
