Recently I had the pleasure to join a conference in Schaan which reminded me that I always wanted to explore the Fürstensteig high above Liechtenstein.

The path from Schaan goes pretty direct via Alpila up to Kuegrat. From time to time the forest opens up showing a beautiful view of the Alvier.

The panorama view on the Kuegrat is just fantastic with also the Alpstein mountains visible on the right side.

The highlight of this tour is the Fürstensteig –  a path through the rough rocks towards Gaflei.

From there my hike went down to Schaan passing by the Burgruine Schalun high above the valley.
